One person has suffered smoke inhalation after a fire in a caravan in Masterton.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson says the fire started in a garage near the caravan on Totara Street.

One person has been taken to Masterton Hospital with smoke inhalation.

The fire is now contained.
