Person seriously injured after alleged Christchurch assault

One person has been taken to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries after reports of an assault in Linwood.

Police responded to a property near Linwood Mall in Christchurch, around 5am on Thursday morning.

Fire and Emergency were initially called upon, but stood down.

Another person has been taken into custody over the incident.
