Person dies after being crushed by truck tail lift in South Auckland workplace accident

One person has died following a workplace accident in South Auckland this afternoon.

Police say they were alerted to the incident at a site on Ash Road, in Wiri, shortly after 2pm.

WorkSafe is investigating the incident, saying, "we understand a person has been crushed by a tail lift on a truck and died".

Police say the person died at the scene.
