Person dies following crash near Palmerston North

One person has died following a crash in Manawatu yesterday evening, police confirmed this morning.

Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash on Rangiotu Road, in Bainesse, south west of Palmerston North, at about 6.15pm.

The road was closed for a time but has since re-opened.

Police are making inquiries into the cause of the crash.
