Person dies after crashing motorbike into cow in Hauraki District

A person has died after hitting a cow while driving a motorbike in Hauraki District near the Coromandel Peninsula.

Police say the accident happened at Pipiroa on State Highway 25 between Pipiroa Road and Main Road late Monday night, shortly before midnight.

One person died at the scene.

The cow also died.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
