Person dies after being pulled from water at New Plymouth's Oakura Beach

One person has died following a water-related incident at Oakura Beach in New Plymouth.

Police say the person was pulled from the water at Oakura Beach in a critical condition last night. 

Emergency services were advised of the incident around 8.25pm.

Medical attention was given but the person died at the scene.
