A St John spokesperson has confirmed one person is in a critical condition after a crash in Glenbervie, Whangarēi this evening.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Harris Rd and Ngunguru Rd at about 6.20pm.
Three others have also been injured in the crash. One person is in a serious condition, one in a moderate condition and another has suffered minor injuries.
All patients have been transported to Northland Base Hospital.
Fire communications confirmed to 1 NEWS it was a two-car crash.
