Person critically injured in early morning Christchurch street brawl

One person is in critical condition at Christchurch Hospital following an early morning street brawl in the central city.

Police were called to the fight involving eight people on the corner of Oxford Terrace and Hereford Street just after 3.30am. 

Three people were arrested, though charges are yet to be laid.  

Police are currently carrying out an investigation at the scene of the fight.
