A man has been critically injured following a stabbing on The Strand in Tauranga.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 1.41 this morning, a police spokesperson told 1 NEWS.
It's not yet clear how the stabbing occurred, the spokesperson added.
The injured person has since been transported to Tauranga Hospital, a St John spokesperson said.
The area has been cordoned off, and a scene examination is underway by forensic experts, police said.
