One person is in critical condition following an assault in Hamilton this morning, according to police.

Officers were called to the scene following a report of an assault on Pringle Place, in Nawton, at around 8.20am, police told 1 NEWS.
The person has since been transported to Waikato Hospital, a St John spokesperson confirmed.
