Pedestrian hit by car in Auckland

A pedestrian has been hit by a car in Half Moon Bay, Auckland, last night. 

The incident happened at 10.30pm. 

Police said in a statement the injured man was taken to Auckland Hospital with critical injuries. 

"The driver of the vehicle is assisting police with their inquiries," the statement said.
