Pedestrian dies after being hit by car near Palmerston North

A pedestrian has died at the scene after being hit by a car near Palmerston North early this morning.

The incident occurred between Brandon Hall Road and Parewanui Road, in Bulls, at around 4.15am.

The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance.

Police said the incident, which "involved a vehicle and a child on a driveway, happened on Mellsop Ave, Waiuku, at around 11.07am.
