Pedestrian dies after accident involving car near Ōpōtiki

A pedestrian has died after an accident involving a car on State Highway Two in Ōpōtiki district this morning.

The crash on Waiotahi Beach Road, Waiotahi, was reported to police at 7.40am.

Police say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Roads were closed with diversions in place following the crash.
