Pedestrian dead after crash with truck near Timaru

A pedestrian has died after an accident involving a truck this morning in the settlement of Cave, west of Timaru. 

Police said they were told about the crash on State Highway 8, at Robinson Road and Davidson Road, just after 9.30am. 

The truck driver was uninjured, police said.

An investigation into the crash is underway. 

The road remains closed.
