Parents of children at an Auckland primary school have threatened to take their kids out of class if a plan to remove asbestos goes ahead during term time.

Asbestos was found in the ground where a new drop off zone will be built at Hobsonville Primary School.

It'll take three weeks to remove and the parents want the school to wait until Christmas, but the school says that's too far away.
