Foodstuffs has admitted that some of its PAK'nSave stores acted inappropriately after chips, fizzy drinks, beer and two-minute noodles were included in a "Good Health Week" promotion.
The discounted products included Steinglager and Corona beer, Coca Cola, Deep Spring soft drink, two-minute noodles and large bags of corn chips.
Images were posted online of signage at the Porirua and Hamilton stores, and a Foodstuffs spokesperson confirmed they were part of a week-long promotion which is now complete.
"All stores were issued with a template for price signage which has, in these particular instances, not been used appropriately," the spokesperson said.
"We have spoken with the stores."
