Pair charged with murder of Auckland man Shannon Baker appear in court

Inspector Aaron Pascoe briefed media about the police investigation today.

Two men have appeared in court jointly charged with murder following a homicide investigation into an Auckland man's death.

Shannon Shelby Baker was found dead at his Sandringham home in December last year.

A 34-year-old and a 28-year-old have been charged with murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary.

Both men appeared at the Auckland District Court today.

Appearing separately, the 34-year-old was remanded in custody where he's due to reappear in the High Court next month. The 28-year-old will reappear at the High Court next week for a bail application hearing.

Both men were granted interim name suppression.

Police made the arrests following searches at two properties yesterday morning.
