One person injured in firearms incident in Bay of Plenty town

One person has been seriously injured in a firearms incident in the Bay of Plenty this evening.

Police were called to the Rimu Crescent home in the town of Minginui around 6.30pm.

A police spokesperson says "initial indication is that one person was seriously injured".

That person has been taken to Rotorua Hospital.

Police told 1 NEWS the incident doesn’t appear to be suspicious and they aren’t seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.
