One person injured after helicopter crash near Taupo

Emergency services are responding to a helicopter crash near Taupo.

Police report the crash occured on Whangamata Rd in Kinloch around 3:30pm this afternoon.

They say initial reports indicate two people were on board the helicopter when it crashed with one person sustaining moderate injuries.

The Civil Aviation Authority has been notified of the incident.
