One person in critical condition after being cut from vehicle following serious crash near Christchurch

A person is in a critical condition after they had to be cut from their vehicle following a serious crash  just outside of Christchurch. 

Police received reports of the single-vehicle crash on State Highway 73 West Coast Rd just after 1:30 am. 

The person was transported by ambulance to Christchurch Hospital after being freed from the car by emergency services.
