One person hurt after SUV crashes through fence into Auckland Buddhist Centre

An SUV has crashed through a fence and into the Auckland Buddhist Centre in the suburb of Westmere this morning.

The crash took place about 5.45am at the corner of Richmond Road and Warnock Street.

Fire, ambulance and police personnel were called to the scene.

One person was being pulled out of the car about 6.15am, and police confirmed two people were involved in the crash, with one seriously hurt. 

Both people were taken to hospital.

The car involved was a late-model black Mercedes SUV.

Police say they are still investigating the circumstances of the crash.
