One person dead, two injured following house fire in Auckland's Cockle Bay

One person has died and two others are injured after an Auckland home was engulfed in flames this evening.

Emergency services were called to the well-involved fire in Minerva Terrace, Cockle Bay, at 6.50pm, police said.

One person has been confirmed dead and two others are injured, who have been taken to Middlemore Hospital.

Fire and Emergency NZ says the fire has since been fully contained.

Three appliances are still at the scene as well as a fire investigator.

Police say they'll be working alongside FENZ to determine the circumstances of the fire, with an investigation underway into how the blaze broke out.
