One person dead in crash near Hamilton

One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash this afternoon in Gordonton, near Hamilton.

The crash happened at about 3.10pm on Waverly Rd, police said.

Police said another person is understood to be in a serious condition.

Two others have moderate injuries.

The road is closed while the serious crash unit examines the scene.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
