One person dead following Bay of Plenty crash

One person has died following a serious crash in Oropi, near Tauranga today. 

Police say they were called to the Oropi Road scene at about 1.25pm this afternoon. 

The road will remain closed for the next two hours and diversions are being put in place.

Police say motorists should avoid the area if possible.
