One person dead after two-crash near Whakatane

One person has died following a serious crash near Awakeri this morning involving two cars.

Two other people have been seriously injured in the crash and police say State Highway 30 is expected to remain closed until mid-afternoon today.

The crash was reported to Police around 8:15am.

A Serious Crash Unit examination is underway.
