One person dead after truck crash north of New Plymouth

One person has died following a single-truck crash this morning on State Highway 3 in Mōkau, north of New Plymouth.

Police were called to the scene between Wharekauri and Mangamaio roads at about 3:50am.

The road is expected to remain closed for some time.

Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
