One person has died after a single-car crash in Marlborough this afternoon.
Police say the crash happened on State Highway 1 near Ward, Marlborough around 4pm.
One lane of the road is open, and traffic management is in place.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
The news comes as crashes over the weekend took the annual road toll above 330 - roughly the same number as this time last year, which went on to be the worst since 2009.
