One person dead after horse riding accident near Twizel

One person is dead after a horse riding accident near Twizel this evening.

Emergency services were called to a report of a horse riding incident on Airport Road in Omarama shortly after 5.30pm.

A helicopter was dispatched from Dunedin to airlift the patient, but the person died at the scene.
