One person dead after crashing into power pole in Hauraki district

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Kaiaua, Hauraki District.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 10pm yesterday.

The driver was the only person in the car when he crashed into a power pole, police said in a statement.

A police investigation into the cause of this crash is underway.

The Serious Crash Unit has examined the scene.
