One person dead after crash in Tasman District

One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Tasman District this afternoon.

Police say the crash happened on the Whangamoa Saddle (State Highway 6) between Rai Valley and Hira at 12:40pm.

The driver of the vehicle - who was the sole occupant - died in the crash.

One lane is currently open on the section of road where the crash took place and motorists are asked to be patient.
