A person has died after a crash this morning on Cobham Drive in Kilbirnie, Wellington.

Another person also has serious injuries and the Serious Crash Unit has examined the scene.

The accident involved one car and the westbound lanes of the road were closed, but have since re-opened.

Police are investingating the cause of the crash.
