One person dead after car crashes into tree in Oamaru

One person is dead following a crash in Oamaru last night. 

Police say the person crashed into a tree on Reed St and was the only one in the car. 

The crash was reported to police at about 9.15pm.

Police inquiries into the crash are ongoing.
