One person has died after a collision between a car and truck on State Highway 57, about 15 kilometres north of Levin yesterday.
Police were called to the serious crash in Shannon around 4pm, responding to initial reports someone was seriously injured.
State Highway 57 was closed temporarily due to the accident but has since been reopened, police said in a statement.
Police are continuing to make inquiries into the circumstances of the crash.
