One dead in collision between motorbike and truck in Canterbury

A person has died after a crash between a truck and motorcycle near Rolleston in Canterbury.

The crash happened on Selwyn Rd near Robinsons Rd about 3.30am.

The Serious Crash Unit and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Team are investigating and the road is closed. 

In a separate incident, a motorcyclist was taken to hospital after a crash in Invercargill this morning about 7.45am.

That crash took place on Elizabeth Street and a police spokesperson said the motorcyclist had injuries to their arm.
