One dead after serious crash near Tekapo

A person has died after a crash involving a truck and a car near Tekapo about 7am today.

The deceased was the driver of the car, police said, and the driver of the truck is being flown to hospital in a serious condition.

Traffic management is in place on Fairlie-Tekapo Road and motorists are advised to avoid the route or expect delays.
