One dead after motorcycle crash near Wellington

One person has died after a motorcycle crash on State Highway 58/Paremata Road north of Wellington this afternoon.

Police responded to the incident near Porirua at about 12.30pm but the person died at the scene.

The death has been referred to the coroner.

State Highway 58 has now reopened.
