Unstoppable! Portia Woodman scores unbelievable solo try after busting four tackles as Black Ferns win World Cup semi
Installation of the longest chairlift in the country has begun as the Christchurch Adventure Park prepares for its opening in mid-December.
The Adventure park will include around 120km of bike track along with walking tracks, a network of zip lines, cafe facilities, accommodation and - from next year - a mountain coaster.
The chair lift runs 1.8km from the Adventure Park village in Worsleys Valley up through the Cashmere Forest to the very top of the Port Hills and will be able to transport up to 1200 visitors and their bikes per hour.
After poor recent weather delayed the installation a specialist helicopter is being used to assist with the process.
Stage One of the development, costing $25 million, will also see the construction of the Adventure Park village housing, a ticketing office, bike rental and storage as well as a cafe seating over 200 people, and four-stage Zip Line tour.
The park is due to open on December 16.
