An organisation representing drone users admits a drone crashing into an aircraft could be catastrophic.

Schools across the North Island will be shut today as the week-long primary teachers' strike rolls into its second day.

Auckland schools will remain open today, after closing yesterday for strike action.

Wellington schools will close for strike action on Friday.

Educators in the affected areas will attend mass strike meetings to consider the Government's latest offer.

The decision for week-long rolling strikes will affect 450,000 primary and intermediate students.

Unions say there has been significant movement in both salaries and support for children with learning needs.

However, the offer has no provisions in place to reduce workloads or class sizes.
