'No indication of what decision New Zealand First will make' - Bill English in the dark about Winston Peters' decision

October 18, 2017

The National leader exited a coalition chat with Mr Peters tonight, involving just the two of them, in Wellington.

National Party leader Bill English says his party has "had no indication of what decision New Zealand First will make".

A spokesperson for Mr English said National would hold a caucus meeting at 11am tomorrow to update MPs on coalition talks, followed by a teleconference with the board.

"We stress that we have "had no indication of what decision New Zealand First will make".

1 NEWS' Corin Dann says Mr Peters has spoken with both National and Labour and told them he'll go public tomorrow.

NZ First said in a statement today it would be announcing what party it would support to form New Zealand's next government tomorrow afternoon.
