No Covid-19 cases in the community, one recorded at the border

There are no cases to report in the community today, with just one positive case in managed isolation, the Ministry of Health has confirmed in a statement.

Of the 125 close contacts in the latest Auckland outbreak, 121 have returned a negative test result, with three tests still to be processed.

The last tests waiting to come back are being treated as low exposure connections to Case C. 

Close contacts linked to Papatoetoe High School sits at 31 with 1,413 casual plus contacts identified. This number has decreased as further investigations revealed they were not at school during the time of exposure. 

Of the casual plus contacts, 1,395 have returned a negative result with 17 results yet to come. There is one positive case from this group identified as Case E. 

Staff and students are advised to stay home and wait until they receive a negative test result before returning to school tomorrow.

All nine close contacts associated with the laundry area of LSG SkyChefs have tested negative. With 388 out of 444 staff in the wider working environment also testing negative. 

There are still 55 results yet to come back. 

This imported case tested positive on day three of their stay in managed isolation after arriving in New Zealand from Singapore on 16 February.

A previously reported case is now being treated as under investigation, meaning the country's active Covid-19 total remains at 51.  

The number of confirmed cases also stays at 1,994. 

There were 7,392 tests processed on Friday with the rolling average for the past seven days at 10,230 tests daily. 

In the past 24 hours, 1.7 million scans were reported with an average of 1.5 million scans daily made this week.
