Nineteen Wellington bus drivers go on strike, disruption 'minimal'

Around 14 drivers from the Wellington Tramways Union have walked off the job over working conditions this morning.

Tranzurban says just 19 Wellington bus drivers have gone on strike this morning, causing "minimal" disruption.

Seventeen services in the Hutt Valley have been cancelled, and three in Wellington.

No school runs have been affected. 

The Wellington Tramways Union had expected 140 drivers to take action over working conditions. 

Commuters are encouraged to check the Metlink website for up to date information.
