Interim name suppression has been extended for the man charged with burning the Kiwi Self Storage facility in Wellington.
In the High Court in Wellington Justice Simon France granted continuing interim name suppression for the accused until December 2, 5pm.
On April 4 the storage facility on Rongotai Road in Kilbirnie went up in flames with smoke billowing throughout the capital. Firefighters were challenged by temperatures of up to a thousand degrees and their only option was to smash the building down.
Owners of storage units were left to sift through the ashes and found treasured possessions including Oscar awards, records and family memorabilia had gone up in flames.
The 34-year-old is charged with having damaged by fire immovable property and will stand trial next Monday.
