Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash at Kaiapoi north of Christchurch yesterday afternoon, following which a motorcyclist has died from injuries.
The motorcyclist has now been named as 34-year-old Ben Caldicott-Elwell, of Rangiora.
His motorbike collided with a trailer on the Tram Road on-ramp to the motorway, where emergency services were called about 3.30pm on Saturday.
Sergeant Melanie Noonan of Waimakariri Police said police were looking for witnesses, especially a doctor who helped at the scene.
The doctor has now come forward, but officers are still looking for more witnesses, she said.
