Two people are dead after a crash between a motorcycle and car this morning on State Highway 1 at Manakau, south of Levin.
The crash happened between Whakahoro Road and Kuku East Road at about 5.35am, police said.
The motorcycle rider and pillion passenger died at the scene.
The road was closed earlier today, but has since re-opened.
Motorists are told to expect delays as the backlog of traffic clears.
