More than 400 homes in Christchurch without power after wild weather overnight

Over 400 homes remain with power in Canterbury after wild weather struck the South Island overnight.

Fire crews went to 85 weather related call outs across the South Island, 60 of which were in Christchurch and surrounding areas with 25 in Central Otago.

Power has been restored to homes across Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes.
