Missing Canadian tourist found by SAR team in South Island

Police say a Canadian tourist missing in the South Island has been found by a search and rescue team after he failed to make contact with his family.

Owen Thurston, 20, was last seen in the Mt Rintoul area on Saturday October 14, and was meant to arrive at St Arnaud by October 19 and make contact with his family.

He never got in touch and his family alerted Police.
