Meet one of NZ's youngest ever university graduates

May 2, 2019

Tristan Pang graduated from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Science degree.

One of New Zealand's newly qualified scientists can lay claim to being one of a special group.

Tristan Pang graduated from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Science, with a double major in maths and physics on Wednesday.

The amazing thing is he's just 16-years-old.

Tristan is among the youngest people to ever graduate university in New Zealand.

Seven Sharp's Carolyn Robinson went to his graduation to find out more about his special achievement in the video above.

* An earlier version of this story said Tristan was the youngest ever to graduate. We've since learned about Shona Yu, who graduated with a bachelor of science in mathematics from Massey University in 2001, aged 14. An incredible achievement from both of them.
