Police are hunting a man who was wearing socks but no shoes and weilding a knife as he held up a service station in the Tauranga suburb of Papamoa last night, leaving the female employee shaken.
Police are trying to identify the male who entered the Z Energy service station on Domain Road, Papamoa, at about 10.30pm.
Inside, he used a knife to threaten a female employee and rob the service station of a number of items, including cash and tobacco.
The worker was left shaken and upset but was not physically harmed, police said this afternoon.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the offender and have released photos showing him wearing a hooded jacket and with his face covered as he carries out the robbery.
