Man killed in early morning Taranaki crash

A man in his 50s has been killed in an early morning crash in Waverley, Taranaki today.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash on Waverley Beach Road at about 4am.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene.

The crash was reported by a passer-by.

The Serious Crash Unit attended and examined the scene, and the circumstances of the crash will be investigated.
