Man dies after 'water incident' north of Auckland

A man has died after what police are describing as a "water incident" north of Auckland today.

Police say they responded to reports of a man found in the water at Point Wells just after 1 pm.

The man has since been confirmed dead.

The death has been referred to the Coroner.
